Take Paris Hilton for example... in the begining, I believe she was really only famous for being rich, she was not an actor and only recently put out a CD. Now Paris is a famous "star" (of sorts) because her name is constantly in the news with scandalous intrigue. Another example... how common was Hugh Grant's name before his sexual encounter with a prositute in a car? --why would anyone do an act like that in the street in public unless they wanted to be seen? (another unanswered why?--when you remember the "knockout" girlfriend he had at the time) I bet we can all name a star who throws phones at people when things get slow... see my point?
So here's what we're up to -- talent alone puts a star into a certain spot in show business, but unless the name stays in the headlines, there is a loss of marketability and the star fades fast. As we the public get less fazed by these hyped scandals, they'll have to get worse and worse over in the future for them to work effectively --unless, we frown on the "drunk driving", "sexual video web postings", "the drug over dosages", and treat the people who pull these stunts as the losers they are! But, that will never happen, because we as a public like the popular...we even vote for the more popular name in politics, not necessarily the best candidate. Anyway, thats my soapbox rant!
About my work:
This illustration is completely vector based and done in Adobe Illustrator CS. Because it is done in illustrator, as opposed to PhotoShop, any part of the drawing is fully independent and can be moved, sized, recolored or even removed. The background can be changed...you can see that I have it on the blog's BG color, but it could be on white, black or any color... so there is the power of vector illustrating.
I hope you enjoy my humor, and drawing style. If you need illustrations like these or even completely different, email me (visit my website, www.robmackdesign.com) I'm fast, not too expensive and I'd be glad to work with you. (oh, and I promise not to rant)
